Stanley Salvadore Sgro, Sr., age 65, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1954 to Albert and Bernice (Mruk) Sgro in Toledo. Stan was a graduate of Roger's High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired after 25 years of service from Ford Motor Company - Maumee Stamping Plant. Stan loved his Lincoln and attending Classic Car Shows in the area. In his younger years he bowled on various leagues and was an avid fisherman. He was proud of his Sicilian heritage, was a great provider to his children and he will be missed.
He is survived by his sons, Stanley S. Sgro, Jr. and Steven "Scott" (Lisa) Sgro; grandchildren, Stanley III, Brooklyn and Holli; Stan's long-time companion Gloria, who preceded him in death, leaves behind her children and grandchildren that Stan treated as his own; siblings, Ray Sgro and Patricia Ramos; many nieces, nephews; cousins and a host of friends. Stan was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Pamela (Hamblin) Sgro; long-time companion, Gloria O'Conner; siblings, Robert Sgro and Laura Dominguez.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300).
