Sig passed away suddenly on September 11, 2017 after celebrating his 46th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Diana. He was born on May 12, 1950 in Munich, Germany to the late Ingeborg and Roman Karolak.

Sig was a loving husband, father and grandfather who took great pride and joy in his family. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, debating current and historical events and was especially passionate about WWII and also leaves behind a legendary VHS collection. Sig enjoyed the simple things in life and making other people happy.

Sig leaves behind his wife, Diana; son, Derick (Courtney) Karolak; daughters, Julie (Shane) Davoll and Lori (Rob) Aton; brothers, Michael (Darlene) Karolak and Eric (Melissa) Karolak; grandchildren, Haylee, Ian, Alexandra, Renee, Logan, Lillian, Kevin and Shane along with several nieces and nephews. Sig was preceded in death by his daughter, Latricia.

The family will receive guests on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
