Shirley Ann Schaefer

November 5, 1928 — November 24, 2018

Shirley Ann Schaefer, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma/Nana, and great-Nana peacefully passed away and entered God's Kingdom on Saturday, November 24th. She was born on November 5, 1928 to Harold and Virgina (Abbe) Teall. Shirley's greatest joy in life was her husband-Robert, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a simple woman who dedicated her life to them all. As a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, she brought her children up in the faith. Her dedication to the Lord was an inspiration to many drawing them closer to the Lord.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Virginia Teall; husband, Robert Edward Schaefer (whom she married June 19, 1948); sister Audrey (Jack) Boucher and daughter, Beverly Vavruska. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bruce (Denise) Schaefer and Deborah (Robert) Keating; son-in-law, Paul Vavruska; grandchildren, Kris (Candi) Nichter, Michael (Dia) Vavruska and Daniel Vavruska; and great-grandchildren, Cole and Katie Nichter.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff, doctors, nurses, aides, and therapists of Kingston of Perrysburg Rehab and Long-term care along with Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the excellent care given to "Mom" during the past couple of months. She felt well cared for and so very comfortable each day with the special attention she received.

Thank you to Pastor Fred Hearn and Concordia Lutheran Church members and for the constant prayers, love, and support. Shirley felt such a part of the church especially at the end of her life on earth. Special appreciation goes out to Marsha who cared for Mom on Friday's each winter.
