Shirley J. Rose

Shirley J. Rose, age 91, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at The Grove at Oakleaf Village. She was born on March 25, 1931 to Raymond and Elsie Schmidt in Alton, Illinois. Shirley worked as a secretary for many years before retiring. She was an avid golfer, playing on various women's leagues even getting 2 holes in one. Shirley enjoyed gardening, puzzles, painting furniture and collecting shells. She liked playing cards especially Euchre and Bridge. Shirley was a huge traveler all around the world, with her spouse, Herbert, but loved being a snowbird spending her winters in Florida. Most important to Shirley was her family, getting to spend time with them, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert; siblings, Clyde Schmidt, Vernon Schmidt, and Evelyn Hooper. Left to cherish Shirley's memory are her loving daughter, Tracy (Hans Henoch) Decker; grandchildren, William (Devon) Decker III, and Marci (Mike) Sinay; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Madden, Theo, Greyson, and Jude; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
