Shirley Jean Harley Reichart, 92, long time resident of Toledo and Maumee passed away on Friday June 3 surround by loving family. She was born in Toledo the daughter of Frank and Florence (Fournier) Harley. Shirley was married 40 years to Duane Reichart. Shirley attended Arlington Elementary School and made many lifetime girlfriends that continued through the years with monthly luncheons well into their 90's. She was a graduate of Libby High School and worked for many years at Lamson's of Toledo and then Value City.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many arts and crafts including being a talented seamstress; she especially excelled in making clothing for her children. Her family was the center of her life, and she was a wonderful mother to her daughters and a caring grandmother to her many grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all her family. May her memory be eternal.
Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Victoria (David) Melvin of Hopkinton Massachusetts, Sheryl (Charles) Bodi of Whitehouse, Kimberly (Russell) Downing of Petersburg Michigan; 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Kline of Lancaster Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her parents and her infant daughter Wendy Sue.
At the family's request there will be no visiting hours and a memorial service at a later date will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Services were under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
