Shirley Jean Short-Jones

Shirley Jean Short-Jones, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 13th, 2011. She was born on October 29th, 1936 to Bryson and Velma Meach, the oldest of 11 children.

Shirley was a strong-willed, feisty woman. She loved long car rides through the countryside.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 37 years, Vern; children, Joe (Tracey) Shible, Joey Shible and Vern (Kelly) Jones; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Jenny) Jones; grandchildren, Holly, Michael, Veronica, Tyler, Emily, Vern, Mercedes, Hannah, Samantha and William; great-grandson, Jayson and special family dog, Titan.

God saw you were getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and He whispered, "Come with me."

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
and watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.

Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
that He only takes the best.

We miss you more each day.

since you went away.

Each time we see your picture
you seem to smile and say,
