Shirley Casto

On Saturday, December 3, 2011, Shirley A. Casto, age 79 of Toledo, departed this world too soon to join the Lord. She was born July 26, 1932 to William and Alta (Stokes) McIlwain in Toledo. For 50 years, Shirley was a bookkeeper for several CPA firms in Toledo, most recently, Alan L. Buckenmeyer. She enjoyed the camaraderie that she shared with many of her co-workers and clients. Shirley was an easy person to talk to, always shared her friendly and warm personality to everyone she met. Her strong spirit carried her to Texas and California, where she moved and was successful in her ability to face new challenges and experiences. In her younger years she was an avid bowler, having played with the Queens bowling league. Most importantly was her family, she loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren, she often put their needs before her own.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her special cousin, Jackie Hall. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Casto and John (Tina) Casto; grandchildren, Michael (Tiffany) Molnar, Brandon (Sarah) Box, Jolene (Jon) Iwinski and Leslie Box and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Sharing of Memories will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
