Shirley A. Dragun
June 6, 1936 — April 29, 2015
Shirley Ann Dragun, age 78, of Sylvania, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Astor House. She was born June 6, 1936 in Wauseon, Ohio to Clifford and Helen (Russell) Kline. She grew up in Fayette and Lived in Sylvania while raising her family.
She was employed part time at the Super Suds Laundry Mat and worked as a full time mother. She loved reading, fishing, doll collecting, studying her Bible and raising her four children. One of her other loves was cats and kittens and she spent time volunteering at Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter. She was well known for her contagious smile and laughter. She was a loving Godly mother who effortlessly shared her love for the Lord.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Judy (Tony) Haerens, Debby (John) VanHorn, Diana (Tom) Shultz; son, John (Heather) Dragun; grandchildren, Amy White, Joshua Dragun, Blade Carswell, Jessica (Chris) Hinkle, Tyler Clark, Daniel (Jennifer) VanHorn, Benjamin (Kate) VanHorn, Andrew Wronkowicz, Julie Dragun and Rachel Dragun; great-grandchildren, Levi Hinkle, Collin Hinkle and Caleb Hinkle. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dragun and granddaughter, Jamie Marie Clark.
The family will receive guests, Monday, May 18, 2015 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Bethany Baptist Church, 14070 Bailey Rd, Grand Rapids, OH 43522 where a Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the church. Pastor Timothy Coley will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Joyce Meyer Ministries or Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter Inc., in Shirley's memory.
