Shirley A. Christy

Shirley A. (Corado) Christy, age 72, of Toledo, passed away, Thursday, September 13, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital. She was born March 27, 1935 to Charles and Julia (Sweat) Corado in Toledo. Shirley was a bookkeeper with several United Way Agencies, most recently at Dental Center of Northwest Ohio, retiring in 2000. She was also a longtime member with Augsburg Lutheran Church. Shirley served on many committees at the church over the years. She loved taking long walks outside, enjoying the birds and sunshine.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Donald F. Christy; daughters, Janice (Michael) Cook and Denise (David) Witkowski; stepson, Jim (Jenny) Christy; grandchildren, Christopher and Brian Cook; Daniel and Amanda Witkowski and Tyler and Logan Christy; brothers, Richard (Nathalie) Corado; Jack (Mary) Sweat and Alex (Dorothy) Corado and sisters, Billie Philips and Mary Wilson; mother-in-law, Eleanor Christy and special friends, Kathy Sisung and Barb Hollinger.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Augsburg Lutheran Church, 1342 W. Sylvania Ave. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Matthy.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Augsburg Lutheran Church.
