Sherry Sue (Smith) Arnold

November 18, 1947 — March 8, 2024

Sherry Sue (Smith) Arnold, age 76, of Oregon, OH began her Heavenly journey on Friday, March 8th, 2024. Born to Earl Grant and Mary Elizabeth (Moore) Smith on November 18, 1947 in the Army base hospital of Fort Knox, KY.

Sherry was an out-going, flirty, poised, tall & attractive woman that always took pride in her appearance. She was extremely punctual and always dependable. Traits we believe she received from her equally beautiful Mother, Mary. She loved working in sales and formerly worked for D&G Coffee services and Respond (Cintas) First Aid and Safety. Her dedication and ability to know what her customers needed and wanted helped her become a top achiever and become very successful earning many awards. Her father taught her to fish and often times, she could be found fishing on the banks of the Maumee River in Rossford enjoying one of her favorite pass times. After her retirement, Sherry spent her free time as a personal driver for hire, for individuals in need. Traveling was her passion. She loved the beach and the sunshine. While she found love that led to marriage a few times, she chose her independence during her last 25 years and was quite content to be at home with her special companion, her dog Nacho.

Sherry leaves behind her only child, Kimberly (Tim) Whitmore, beloved Granddaughter Kaitlyn (Chad) Pettit, beloved Grandsons Nicholas Whitmore and Travis (Marissa) Whitmore, as well as, her pride and joy twin great-grandchildren Maverick and Evelyn Whitmore. She is also survived by her only brother, Jerry (Nancy) Smith, Favorite Uncle Armand Smith, former husband William C. Arnold, many nieces, cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rankie & Bessie Moore, parents Grant & Mary Smith, 1st husband and father of her daughter, Frank Alexander, True love of her life and former husband, John R. Hymore, nephew Howard Smith, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of both St Charles and Regency Hospitals for all the kindness and care that Sherry received during her last days. Their professionalism and warm hearts were a comfort to both her and her daughter. No public services will be held. Arrangements made by Newcomer Funeral Home, Heatherdowns.
