Sherman Hoskin Clark, born October 7, 1917 in Toledo to Harold E. and Helen M. (Scheuerman) Clark, passed away Feb. 10, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 yrs. Bernadette M (Hoffmann) Clark. He leaves behind 5 children; Lewis (Mary Lu), Sherman W., Karen L., Thomas H., and Juliet C.; 6 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was in the first graduating class of the then new DeVilbiss High School and had a variety of early jobs. These jobs included the Post Office and working for the Toledo Nabisco Co., where he made many friends who knew him as "Curly." Some of these friends he still met with for monthly luncheons. Playing the violin from an early age, led to a lifelong love of music. In his retirement he enjoyed building model ships, airplanes and HO gauge trains.
A story-filled, easy-going man, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
