Sharrell Dale Baker, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on June 17, 1954, in Georgia to Vernal and Margaret Baker. Dale’s life spanned 70 impactful years, characterized by love for his family, dedication to his work, and a passion for his hobbies.
A proud US Army Veteran, Dale served his country honorably before committing himself to a long and fruitful career with the State of Ohio, where he worked for 30 years before retiring at the young age of 50. His work ethic and dedication were a reflection of his character, always striving to give his best in all endeavors.
Dale was not just a hardworking individual; he was also a man of many interests. He had an undeniable love for classic cars, particularly his cherished 1963 Nova. Friends and family could often find him tinkering away in the garage, surrounded by tools and the comforting scent of engine oil. This love for working on old cars was a testament to his hands-on nature and his appreciation for the beauty of craftsmanship.
He is survived by his very dear friend, Dirinda Beamer, who stood by him through thick and thin. Dale’s legacy continues through his loving family: his brothers, David and Tom (Debbie) Baker; his sisters, Linda (Leon) Peck and Pat Wilson; his sons, Dale (Marley) Baker and Danny Baker; his daughter, Brandy (Steven) Campbell; and his grandchildren, Ne’Shell and Brandyn Neal, Cheyanne Campbell, Rose Hardt, Rhidley de’ Leon, Emily, Chloe, and Kenzee Baker. Each of them carries a piece of Dales spirit and will remember him fondly.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Vernal, his mother, Margaret, and his sister-in-law, Audrey Jean Baker. Their memories will remain a cherished part of his family’s history and serve as a reminder of the love they shared.
The family invites friends and loved ones to gather to celebrate Dale’s life on November 20, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio.
