Joseph Bernard Myers of Toledo, Ohio passed away December 2, 2021 peacefully at his home. Joseph was born August 19, 1988 in Toledo, Ohio to Gregory and Elizabeth Myers. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Maurice E. Seiple, II and Fred J. Myers; his grandmother, Patricia A. Seiple and his dog Moose (Mooder).

Joseph attended Bowsher High School where he received his varsity letter in both football and wrestling. Joseph loved football. Joseph played for the Bengal Football team. When he was playing league football, he was nicknamed, "The Hitman Myers." Joseph was also offered a scholarship to attend Bowling Green State University to play on their scout team.

Joseph decided to join the United States Marine Corps upon graduating high school. He had a deep desire to serve his country. He served with great pride for four years. Joseph also served a tour in Afghanistan. While on deployment with fellow Marines from 3/5 Kilo Company they suffered many casualties.

During the dark days of Sangin, Joseph inspired his brothers with his humor and raw spirit.

Joseph selfless dedication to the safety of the mission and his men earned him the decoration of the Medal of Valor.

Joseph returned home in 2011. He attended the University of Toledo where his accomplishments made the Dean's List for every semester.

Joseph was also a member of the 14th Ward Old Time Baseball Players Association.

Joseph was very passionate about many things. He loved going with his friend, Miko to the target range and try to "out do" each other. He loved to cook, grill, camp, and had a deep passion for wild life. One of his goals in life was to hike the Appalachian Trail and to start an animal refuge.

Joseph loved music and thought he was a great singer. He would practice every time he took a shower and would not miss an opportunity to sing Karaoke.

Joseph enjoyed the Green Bay Packers along with being an adamant fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Which he would take every opportunity to tease his "Michigan Fan" brother.

Joseph would light up a room when he walked in and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Joseph's passion and love for his family, friends and deeply for his brothers will be forever missed by all of us.

Joseph's family came first in his life. He deep love for his brother, sister and his mother was felt by them everyday. He loved spending time with his father.

He is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth A. Myers (Mom); his father, Gregory J. Myers (Dummy); his grandmother, (Nana); his brother, Jake F. Myers (Jaker Bob); his sister, Katelyn P. Myers (Boogaloo); his uncle, Maurice E. Seiple, III (Ashley); his aunts, Melissa M. Myers (Chad), Shannon M. Myers (Kelsey) and his dog, Xena (Queen Zeba).
