Scott Alan Sheppard

Scott “Scottie” Alan Sheppard, age 22, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Born on November 19, 2002, in Toledo, Ohio, Scottie was the beloved son of Angela White and Earnest White Jr. He brought light, laughter, and joy into every room he entered. Known for his larger-than-life personality and infectious smile, Scottie was the heartbeat of every gathering, and if you were with him, you were guaranteed to have a good time.

Scottie was especially close to his family, cherishing time spent with his nieces and cousins, many of whom were like siblings. His love for cooking was more than a talent—it was a passion that brought people together, adding flavor and spice both literally and metaphorically to all aspects of his life. He was employed as a cook and lived his life in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio.

Scottie is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Keith Sheppard and Earnest White Sr., and his cousins/brothers, George Corbin Jr. and Glen Sheppard.

He is survived by his loving parents, Angela and Earnest White Jr.; grandmothers, Rose Burgess and Genamarie White; brother, Christian Sheppard; nieces, Nevaeh, Penelope, and Brayleigh Sheppard; and his girlfriend, Ariana M. Berry. He also leaves behind many close family members, including his aunts: Glenda Sheppard, Kathryn Ludlow, Dawn Sheppard, Valerie (Vincent) Pruss, Jamie (Tony) Burgy; uncles: Brian (Nicole) White, Vincent Pruss; cousin/brothers: Corey Corbin, James (Mari) Matthews, and Tyler Thanasiu; cousin/sisters: Asia Matthews and Deja Roosevelt; and cousins: Nik Pruss, Allison Pruss, Christina Sheppard, Donnie Riffle, Nicole Riffle, Zach Burgy, Megan Burgy, Austin White, Kylie White, and Carlie White. He will also be missed by dear friends “Merc,” Billy, and Blaze, along with a host of other cousins and friends who loved him deeply.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th, 2025, from 10:00 AM PM to Noon at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614. Funeral services will be held the same day also at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel A. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
