Scott A. Gibson

Scott A. Gibson, age 61, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. Born on February 13, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio, Scott was the only son of Bruce and Leta (Gaff) Gibson.
Scott graduated from Maumee High School in 1980 and like his father before him, completed trade school to become a painter and later a member of the International United Painters and Allied Trades Local 7. Scott was dedicated to his job, often travelling for his work. He was proud of his accomplishments and would often elbow anyone near, pointing out his handiwork saying, "Hey, hey, hey! Painted that!"
Besides his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his loving wife Rachel (Rettig) Gibson.
Scott is survived by his cherished partner, Angela Eckel; daughter, Katheryn (Steven) Lestock; son, Daniel (Amanda Jones) Gibson, and daughter, Lydia Smith. He was the adored grandfather of Charlotte Smith, William Masiulaniec, and Katheryn Elizabeth Masiulaniec. Scott was the treasured brother of Victoria Gibson and uncle of many nieces and nephews. Scott will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614. Scott's service will directly follow visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 at the funeral home.
