Scott R. Berger, Sr.

Scott Robert Berger, Sr., of West Toledo and current resident of Swanton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was born on July 14, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio, where he attended Whitmer High School and graduated with the class of 1982.
Upon graduating from high school, Scott became a member of the Local Carpenters Union as a career for many years. He was a proud craftsman. In his later years of life, Scott was a devoted employee at the Anne Grady Center, where he loved the company of the individuals he worked with and transported daily since 2017.
Scott enjoyed spending time with his family, children, and friends. He was an avid hunter and archer who shared his talents with his three sons. Always living life to the fullest, Scott loved to tell tales and laugh. One of his biggest attributes was his smile and the ability to bring his stories to life. Above all, Scott enjoyed spending time and creating lasting memories with his children and grandson.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James Berger, Jeanne Scott Sager-Berger; father-in-law, David Harold Crozier, Sr. Left to cherish Scott's memory are his children, Scott Robert, Jr., Kasey Alexandra (Brandon Lee Craft), William Robert, and Cole Steven; his beloved grandson, Owen William; his childhood sweetheart, spouse of many years, and the mother of his children, Angela Kelly; mother-in-law, Maebelle Crozier; siblings, Kristi Lee Berger-Long, Katina Marie Crozier-Holland, John (Jackie) David Crozier, David Harold Crozier, Jr.; nephews, Jono, David III and Kent; special life partner, Paula Marie; and many dear friends.
Scott will be missed by those whose lives he touched and remembered as a man who would give the shirt off his back to help the best of friends and strangers.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
