Sandra Leigh Roster passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 4, 2008. Sandra, age 55 of Perrysburg, fought against metastatic breast cancer for 8 months. She was a 4-year breast cancer survivor prior to her second diagnosis, and is now known by her family as "The Brave One."
Sandra was voted best mom on the planet by both her children, and will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 35 years. She could not wait to be a grandmother, and her first grandchild will be born in September 2008. Sandra loved nature. She enjoyed camping, walking in the local metroparks 3-5 times a week, and listening to the ice break on the Maumee River annually. Her family was the most important thing to her and she was always planning fun get-togethers with her parents, sisters, nieces, nephews, children, and husband. Shopping outings to Grand Rapids, Ohio in the summer and for the Christmas Open House in November are cherished memories forever for her whole family.
Sandra also loved her church families at both Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg and Hampton Park Christian Church in Toledo. She was a camp counselor at Camp Christian near Magnetic Springs, Ohio for many many years and forever devoted to her church family. The family wishes to thank these church communities for their extended support; because of your community spirit and generosity we had more great memories with Sandra.
Sandra is the wife of Ervin Roster and daughter of Robert and Ellen Peavey. Sandra is survived by her son Christopher Roster, daughter Jennifer Day (Roster) and son-in-law Jason; her sister Susan Rohrbaugh (Peavey) and brother-in-law Rob, sister Bobbie Simpkins (Peavey) and brother-in-law Bill; her Uncle Richard W. Strieby and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her in-laws: sister Elizabeth Goldsmith (Roster) and Marv, sister Roselyn Winseman (Roster) and Jim, brother Dennis Roster and Renate, sister Tina Scheub (Roster) and John, and sister Karen Scheub (Roster) and Joe. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Mary Louise and Omar Peavey, Marion and Shirley Strieby, and parents-in-law Vivian and Pete Roster.
