Sandra Faye Collins

Sandra F. Collins, age 73, a native of Toledo, passed away Friday, January 15th, 2010 at Flower Hospital. She was born September 5th, 1936 to Thornton and Althea (Bowlin) Bortles in Toledo. Sandra was an avid collector of elephants. She was a loving person with a heart of gold and a zest for life. Sandra always looked for the silver lining in every situation and every person. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her sisters, Marsha and Brenda; her lifelong companion, Gilbert Benge and granddaughter, Cassandra Young. She is survived by her loving children, Anthony Ray (Rebecca) Collins of San Antonio, TX; Timothy Allen (Cheryl) Collins of IA; Tamra (Carl) Collins-Bonds and DeRoy Pitts; grandchildren, Joshua; Michael; Jennifer; Julia; Courtney and Anthony, Jr.; great grandchildren, Aaron; Kennidee and Cameron. Sandra will also be missed by her special nieces, Marsha Young and Pamela Anderson and close friend, Victor Young.

The family will receive guests Monday from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
