Samuel S. Reneger, Jr.
December 2, 1935 — June 12, 2018
Samuel Sylvester Reneger, Jr. passed away the morning of June 12, 2018 at the age of 82 ½ years old. He was born on December 2, 1935 and was raised by his beloved parents Samuel, Sr. and Rose Reneger.
His father taught him to hunt and fish almost as soon as he could walk. His mother spoiled him with love, adoration and home-cooked foods. He left high school before graduation to begin working but that didn't stop his education. Sam was always reading and learning so he could make his opinions known. By the age of 18, he married Dianne (Stewart). The couple had a large family beginning with 5 daughters, growing with 10 grandchildren, then 11 great-grandchildren. Sam worked up to 3 jobs at a time to support his ever-growing family. His primary employment was at Libbey Owens Ford - Rossford from which he retired early in his 50s to enjoy life and his family.
Sam and Dianne spent 63 years together. They traveled the country and spent winters in Florida during their "golden years." They visited family and made lifelong friends. Sam's greatest love was helping his family whether it was building a shed, picking up the grandkids from school, driving kids/adults to appointments, waiting for surgeries to finish, putting together a swing-set, taking them to church, taking them out to breakfast, or just telling a silly rhyme to make someone smile.
Sam leaves behind his daughters, Rosalie (Ron) Weber, Sandy (Larry) Isbell, Diana (Ron) Seromik, Darlene Lubinski and Karen (Dana) Grueshaber; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of cousins/nieces/nephews. He is now in God's embrace with his wife, parents and many siblings.
A special thank you to all those who took the time to care for Sam in his time of need.
The family will receive guests on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 11-12:00 p.m. at Newcomer – SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: Hosanna Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
