Samuel Aaron Mccadney

January 22, 1974 — February 28, 2021

Samuel Aaron McCadney, affectionately known as "Sam" to his friends and loved ones, was born on January 22, 1974 to Sammy T. McCadney and Ella D. McCadney in Toledo, Ohio and departed his earthly body on February 28, 2021.

Samuel was an avid sports fan who excelled in basketball from an early age, playing on teams from elementary and junior high school to finishing his basketball career with the Start Spartans. Samuel was known for having some of the best "hops" in the city, as he could take off from the hardwood and dunk on the best of them.

Samuel was also a music lover of all genres but especially Hip Hop and R&B music. He was a talented writer and rapper who performed in clubs and talent shows throughout the city with groups formed with family and friends.

Samuel proudly served this country and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a jack of all trades and was self-employed doing carpentry work including painting and numerous odd jobs. He was always there to lend a helping hand when needed.

Samuel will be lovingly remembered for his love of family and ability to make those around him laugh with his jokes, impressions and silly sense of humor. No matter the adversities he encountered, Samuel was always able to find the humor in situations and laugh. He was also the self-proclaimed BBQ king as he would do most of the barbecuing at family gatherings.

Samuel was preceded in his passing by his father, Sammy T. McCadney and brother, Tyrone N. McCadney, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory six children, Samia McCadney, Robert Davis, Cassandra Hogue, Aaronea McCadney, Samuel Aaron McCadney, Jr., Shyon McCadney and bonus son, Andrew Martin. Samuel is also survived by his grandchildren, Terryion Jones, Jr., Ty'Marr Jones, Tristan Jones and Bryce Davis; Mother, Ella D. McCadney; sisters, Parnice L. (Drew) Andrews, Denyce L. Calvin, Lynnette M. (George) Hair and Tanya N. McCadney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 3 – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W.
