Samuel E. Boykin

Samuel E. Boykin, age 87, of Holland, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at home peacefully with family by his side.

Sam was born April 20, 1932 in Georgiana, AL to Lelia Lyman and James Robert Boykin.

Sam was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lelia Lyman; father, James Robert; son, Edward and brother, Rev. Peter Boykin.

He was an excellent fisherman and enjoyed hunting and beating everyone in playing checkers.

In his last years you could always find him sitting in his favorite chair reading the bible and watching his favorite Western movies.

Sam made a career working for Penn Central Railroad until he became disabled.

Sam is survived by his wife, Ora Lee; daughters, Marie, Jenise and Janice (Jerome); sons, James, Jimmy (Janie), Christopher (Sarah) and Robert; grandchildren, Lorenzo, Terry, Jimmy (Cathy), Shawn, Shante, Teven, Jay, Christopher, Jr., Chantel, Jimmy Jr., Matthew and Sabrina; great-grandchildren, Kalani, Bryson, David, Rihanna, Deven, Kaylea, Grace, Shawn, Jr., and Siera; brothers, Wesley (Evelyn) and Herman.

Sam's family would like to thank all the health care professionals from Heartland Hospice for all the great care they provided him in his last days. God Bless you all!

The Family will receive guests, Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Road, Toledo (419-392-9500). Memorial Services will be held Friday, February 21, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 102002 Angola Road at 1:00 p.m.

Sam will be sadly missed by family and friends. R.I.P. Sam... We Love you...
