Samantha Jo Carner, age 25, affectionately known to many as "Sammy" and "Sam", passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Toledo, with her husband and family by her side. She was born on February 24, 1994 to James, III and Jaime (Dixon) Gibbs in Toledo. Sam was a 2012 graduate of Whitmer High School and attended the University of Toledo. For the past 6 years she worked at R.M.T. Woodworth in the accounts payable department. Nearly a year ago Sam was given the diagnosis of primary breast angiosarcoma. During this time with treatments she remained optimistic, hopeful and carried her chin held high that she would beat this terrible disease. She was a true fighter in every essence. Her family will remember her for her great smile, sense of humor, being caring and compassionate towards others, animals and especially her dogs. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband and best friends, Michael Carner, Jr.; parents, James, III and Jaime Gibbs; father and mother-in-law, Michael Carner, Sr. and Ester Hernandez; furry babies, Hachi and Pepper; brothers, Austin and Justin Gibbs; sister, Diana L. Dixon; sister-in-law, Julie Carner; brother-in-law, Matthew Carner; nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends and co-workers.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 2-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). This will be a time to gather with family and friends and share memories of Sam.
