Salome Cruz

Salome "Sally" Cruz, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday November 15th, 2010. She was born October 22nd, 1920 to Ancelmo and Ascencion (Herrera) Campos in Mt. Harris, Colorado. Sally served as a World War II Veteran on the home-front to protect her country. She was honored by the Veteran of Foreign Wars of the United States on May 29th, 2004. It was an honor she talked about with her children and grandchildren.

Sally went home to be with her husband, Roberto Cruz and her sons, Gilbert and Roberto, Jr. and her grandsons, Mark Ball and David Perez Jr. She is survived by her sons, David (Becky) Perez; Joe Cruz and Fred Cruz; daughters, Mary (Joe) Murillo and Gloria Morrison. Sally will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Lisa Murillo; Joe (Shannon) Cruz; Christina (Todd) Berning; Bobbie Jo Cruz; Joei Murillo; Jennifer Murillo; Jessica Murillo; Sara Cruz; Jacob Cruz, Susie Perez and Rochelle Perez; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on-the-way and brother, Ed Campos. "Grandma Mamie as her grandchildren called her will be greatly missed.

The family will receive guests Friday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Texas.
