Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, Sallye Marie Condon (Longeway) passed away on June 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Sallye was 82 years old; five days shy of her 83rd birthday.
In her younger years, Sallye attended Notre Dame Academy and went on to proudly become a nurse, graduating from the St. Vincent’s Nursing School in 1962 (working for many years at a well-known dermatology practice in Toledo).
Sallye, an avid bowler, held many positions in the Toledo Women’s Bowling Association and ultimately became its president for 10 years. She participated in numerous local and national conventions and tournaments over the years.
Sallye possessed many talents from crafts to crochet to a love of baking birthday and wedding cakes for hundreds of relatives and other customers over the years.
Her love for her family, friends always brought joy and abundant love to her heart. Sallye was an active member of St. Patrick’s Heatherdowns church for the last 24 years participating in and volunteering for numerous activities including the funeral lunch program that brought comfort to other families in the community.
Sallye is survived by her husband of 31 years, Thomas J. Condon, her two children, Sarah LaScola-Parks (Shawn) and Matthew LaScola (Sandy), stepchildren Kristy Condon, Tom Condon (Carolyn), Patrick Condon (Angie) and Michael Condon, grandchildren, Joseph and Vivian LaScola, Eric and Samantha Parks, Amanda, Caitlain, Tiffany Fellers, Shawn, Jessica and Chelbi Condon and sisters Suzanne Land and Marcia Stone, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:15 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo.
