Sally L. Eggleston, age 82, of Perrysburg, OH, passed away on December 14, 2024, at the Lakes of Monclova. She was born on May 26, 1942, to Joseph and Stella (Livingston) Sharp in Johnstown, PA. Sally spent the majority of her adult life in Columbus and Gahanna, Ohio, before moving to Perrysburg.
In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by her brother, Joel Sharp. She is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Steve) Pritts; her son, Todd (Rosie Berman) Weisbarth; her grandchildren, Casey (Joe) Smeltz, Taylor (Nicolas Hernandez) Pritts, Joseph Pritts, Michael Weisbarth, Joe (Erica Windland) Weisbarth; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Stella Smeltz.
Sally was a devoted mother who nurtured her children with unwavering support, guidance, and an occasional witty remark to keep things in perspective. During their younger years, she was actively involved in various school, athletic, and musical organizations to foster their interests. Her dedication extended beyond her family; she spent many years at the Kroger Company before retiring. Afterward, she continued her career at the Census Bureau.
As a grandmother, Sally’s love knew no bounds. She adored her grandchildren, spoiling them with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. They were her pride and joy, and she never missed a chance to talk about them to anyone who would listen (and some who didn’t have a choice).
Sally was not only a wonderful mother and grandmother but also a great friend. Her warmth, humor, and genuine ability to listen made her the type of friend everyone felt lucky to have. She loved teasing her friends and joking around, never missing a chance to share her opinions.
Sally enjoyed all sports, especially Ohio State Football, Basketball, and the Olympics. She also loved playing cards and games with friends and family. Sally was a passionate bridge player, finding both challenge and camaraderie in the game she loved. She spent countless hours at the bridge table, earning recognition as a Ruby Life Master—a testament to her skill and dedication. Through the game, she forged lasting friendships that meant the world to her.
Sally was a faithful fighter to the end, and she will be deeply missed. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to her many visitors and to the compassionate staff who went above and beyond in caring for our mom and Grandma Sally. Your kindness meant the world to her and to all of us. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore, OH, at 4:30 PM, followed by dinner. A private burial will take place in the spring in Johnstown, PA.
