Sally Jane Beckman

Sally Jane Beckman, age 83, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on May 3, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Emmert and Dorothy (Ryan) Blasingame.

Sally loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved God's Word and enjoyed spending hours most days studying scripture and preparing for her Precepts Bible studies. She enjoyed fussing around with gardening at the house and kept all the local squirrels fattened up. She wasn't afraid to buy the best sewing machines for her sewing projects. When she was younger, she could smack the crap out of a golfball. Most importantly, her most fervent prayer was that everyone in her family would follow Jesus as their savior. Sally will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lori (Bobby) Pratt, Kathy (Dennis) Layman, and Jon (Denise) Beckman; six grandchildren, Andrew Hillabrand, Abby Hillabrand, Brittany (Hunter) Osenbaugh, Austin Layman, Anna Claire (Ian) Spaight, and Jillian Grace Beckman; six great grandchildren, Blake, Gianna, Noah, Rowan, Stetson, and Alex; and two sisters, Barbara Surface and Carolyn Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Beckman, whom she married on September 27, 1958; brother, William Blasingame; and a sister, Wanda Blasingame.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Friday, January 29, 2021, from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, where funeral services will take place at 11:30 am, with Pastor Nathan Bayly officiating. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
