Sadie Janail Phenizy

Sadie J. Phenizy, age 84, of Toledo, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2013. She was born on April 3, 1929 in Rome, Georgia. Sadie worked at Collingwood Linen for 18 years and she enjoyed the work and the patrons. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, they will cherish all the delicious recipes she made for them. Her family will remember her lively and outgoing spirit. Sadie also played pitty-pat with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nellie Clinkscale, Mildred Phenizy, Henrietta Phenizy and Lorraine (James) Clark; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Kelly and brother, Billy Tutt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace James Phenizy; sons, Jimmy, Roger and Dwayne Phenizy; grandson, Robert Craig Phenizy and longtime companion, Lloyd Gamble.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). To conclude the visitation, there will be a brief prayer in the funeral home.
