Ruth Wurst

Ruth Wurst, age 76, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at her home. She was born on May 14, 1945, in Tuscan, Arizona, to the late Harold McWhirter and Betty (Smoots) Massey.

Ruth was a graduate of Swanton High School. Family was most important in Ruth's eyes. She loved hosting family gatherings, from holiday parties to pool parties. Ruth enjoyed camping, traveling the country, and shopping at garage sales and flea markets. She also enjoyed accompanying her husband to his musical engagements. Ruth loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished the moments spent with her loved ones.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Wurst, whom she married on January 11, 1969; children, Kelly (Michael) Metcalfe, Kim (Robert) Logan, and Rob Wurst; grandchildren, Tommy (Angelina), Tara (Cal), Cody, Shawn, Jacob, Kellsie, Abigail, Emily, Tucker, Andrea, Landon, and Samantha; great grandchildren, Alison, Sydney, Carter, and Mariah; many nieces, nephews, and close friends; and special neighbors, Tim and Patti.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold "Pete" McWhirter.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home.
