Ruth Francelias Wakeman, age 95 of Fenton, Michigan passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Toledo, Ohio. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, 503 S. Leroy St., with Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service. Ruth was born on October 2, 1914 to Ira St. Clair and Eva M. (Cattrell) Jarvis in Fenton, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Charles Wakeman on April 23, 1938 in Flint, Michigan and together they spent 67 wonderful years together. Ruth was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who always put her family first. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlene (Donald) Dunavan; 7 grandchildren, DeVonna (Jeff) Irwin, Karl Lacy Wakeman, Master Sergeant Leon (Kimberly) Lacy, Bryant Lacy, Brandi (Shaun) Boechler, Jeremy Wakeman and Janel Wakeman; 20 great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandson and 4 great-great grandchildren. Preceding Ruth in death are her husband, Charles Wakeman in 2005; son, James Wakeman in 1991; two grandchildren, Rodney James Wakeman and Jory Vincent Lacy and several brothers and sisters.
