Ruth V. Harris

Ruth V. Harris, age 84, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Ridgewood Manor, Maumee. She was born on December 31, 1926 to E.B. and Ida (Wairse) Boyd in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Ruth loved taking care of children and operated an in-home daycare for many years. She enjoyed canning and cooking and was an avid garagesaler. Ruth also enjoyed gardening with her husband. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family especially her grandbabies. Ruth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Travis, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John; daughter, Juanita (Rod) Kesler; daughter-in-law, Kathy Harris; grandchildren, Kelly (Mark) Schultz, Tammi Durco, and Kevin (Jenni) Harris; great-grandchildren, Erica, Katie, Kelsie, Brianna, Kaylee and Thomas; brother, LeVon (Joyce) Boyd; and special sister-in-law, Dean Boyd.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fish Cemetery, Pemberville, OH.
