Ruth Anna Poulson

Ruth Anna Poulson passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born in Toledo OH on December 20,1946 to Lloyd W. Cary Jr. and Dalah Marie (Greiner) Cary.She was preceded in death by her parents and pre-term born son, Adam Poulson. Ruth is survived by her husband of 58 years Ronald H. Poulson, son David Poulson, and daughter Kerry (Brett) Lammie, grand-daughters Sarah (Noah) Szewczykowski, Jenna (Xavier) Szewczykowski, brother Lloyd W. (Gail) Cary II, sister’s-in-law Jackie (Ceglio) Poulson, and Carol (Poulson) Clapp. Ruth is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

 Ruth worked for many years at the University of Toledo Medical Center as a transcriptionist, retiring in 2008.

 Ruth was a generous, fun, caring, kind spirit, with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time going on vacations in the summer with her husband, spending time with her granddaughters (Easter scavenger hunts in the house, zoo trips, pottery painting to name a few), baking, reading, walks in the park, flowers, animals, and listening to Tom Jones.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her smile would light up a room and she will be greatly missed.

 Family and friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. Toledo OH. Visitation will begin on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2pm until 6pm. A celebration service of Ruth’s life will begin at 6pm, with Pastor Doug McKinney officiating.

There will be no graveside service.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the donor’s choice.

Ruth’s family would like to thank the hospice nurses and aides for providing comfort, compassion, and dignity to her and her family.
