Ruth Mcgreevy

Ruth "Ruthie" McGreevy, age 92, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born on December 29, 1913 to Wade and Norma Finley in Toledo. Ruth was the Supervising Bookkeeper with the Lucas County Auditor's Office for several administrations until retiring in 1983. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1932 where she won the all around girl athletic award three years in a row. She was also a member of the drama and art departments. After retirement she was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, gambling, traveling, and tinkering with inventions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen and brother, William. Ruth is survived by her loving family, children: Thomas (Corinne) McGreevy, Jane Henkle, Michael (Charlene) Patton; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) from 2 – 8:00 p.m. A Scripture Service will take place at 6:00. Prayer Services will begin Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Michael O. Brown. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
