Ruth M.(Walls) Schafer

Ruth M. (Walls) Schafer, age 87, of Holland, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital. She was born August 7, 1920 to Elijah and Ethel (Hedlund) Worden in Toledo. Ruth was employed with Gladiex Foods for 26 years, retiring in 1980. She was longtime member of Community of Christ Church, Whitehouse, Ohio. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Schafer; son, Henry Walls; her infant twins, Donald and Donna Walls; grandson, Mark Lucas and granddaughter, Nacole Lucas. Ruth was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving children, Clifford (Yvonne) walls; Jan (Rudie) Mounts; Barbara Lucas and Nancy (Patrick) Marvin; sisters, Doris Richardson and Carole Holk; brother, William Butt; 29 grandchildren; 50+ great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and "special friend", Rita Beauregard.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
