Ruth "Peggy" Keeler, 85, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2013. She was born on November 23, 1927. Peggy married Ben Keeler on October 18, 1947 at Little Flower Catholic Church.
She worked at the original Hickory Farms for almost 16 years in the business office. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially hosting Christmas Eve every year at her home. She loved traveling and playing cards with her family and friends. Peggy liked going out to lunch every month with her Bunco group. She was a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother and didn't like to miss any sporting or musical events. Peggy's family will miss her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
In addition to her husband; Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Rubie and Clista McClure; brothers, Donald and Roy and great-granddaughter, Emma. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol (Rick) Holden, Larry (Karen), Bonnie (Danny) Sprague; brother, Bill (Beryl) McClure; grandchildren, Tonia (Eric) Koehler, Angela (Steven) Young, Jeannie (Aaron) Leonhardt, Stacey (Jim) Papulias, Ben Keeler, Paula Sprague, Sarah (John) Kraft and Danny (Melissa) Sprague; 19 great-grandchildren and special friends, Joanne and Ron Johnston.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, January 13 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5562 Dorr St., Toledo. Visitation at church one hour prior to Mass. Burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
