Ruth Ann(Shadle) Peck

Ruth Ann (Shadle) Peck, age 82, of Toledo, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born on July 22, 1930 to Thomas and Evelyn (Bradbee) Shadle in Wauseon, Ohio. Ruth was an amazing cake decorator for many years. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Ruth was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and she loved the Detroit Tigers. Ruth enjoyed entertaining and loved nothing more than the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Helen Cummins, Tommy Hoffman, Dorothy Miller and Sally Jo Shadle; brother, Dick Shadle; and grandson, Brian Curtiss. Ruth is survived by her sister, Betty Jane "B.J." Nihiser; loving children, Thomas Peck, Kathy (Rick) Garcia, Denise (Dave) Plentz and Karen Gallaher; grandchildren, T.J., Alicia, Ricky, Tammy (Mark), Kimberly (Joe), Jason (Jennifer) and Eric; great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Katie, Lucas, Kaylee (Brad), Haize, Sam, Max, Mason, Aubrey, Damian, Kate, Reese, Cara, Kaitlyn and Bailey; great-great-granddaughter, Sabryn; granddog, Roxie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
