Ruth A. Smeltzer

Ruth A. Smeltzer, age 86, of Toledo, passed away October 14, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Ruth was born April 30, 1927 in Toledo to Fred and Edna (Rowe) Barber. She was an Avon Sales Representative for at least 20 years. Ruth was a member and very active at St. Lucas Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Anthony B. (Christine) Smeltzer, daughter, Carolyn A. Lynch; grandchildren, Andrea Whaley, Elizabeth Kazmierczak, Nina Lynch and Neil Lynch; great grandchildren, Billy Kazmierczak, Charlie Kazmierczak, Breyon Stokes, Nariah Stokes, Lamar Stokes and Mia Mitchell. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Smeltzer; son, Jeffery Smeltzer; and granddaughter, Nicole Mitchell.
The family will receive guests Monday, October 21, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo (419-381-1900). A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, 745 Walbridge Ave, Toledo, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Ruth's memory.
