Russell "Russ" W. White, age 76, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, August 9th, 2005 in his home. He was born December 1, 1928 to Frank and Gladys (Groves) White in Shadyside, Ohio. Russ was a 1949 graduate of Scott High School where he was active in track and swimming. He was a veteran of the Army Corps of Engineers serving in Korea for 4 years. Russ was employed for more than 40 years in the auto industry with several dealerships in the Toledo area. He was a member of Conn-Weissenberger Post and also a member and past Master of the Rubicon Blue Lodge and also the Scottish Rite. Russ was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He also had a wonderful sense of humor that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling and golf.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his brother, John Groves. He is survived by his loving wife of soon-to-be 51 years, Patricia A. "Pat" (Shelhart) White; son, Bradley (Gail) White; grandchildren, Ben and Adam Noll and sisters, Marjorie Ballert and Mary Drzewiecki.
The family will receive guests Saturday from 4-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300), with Masonic Services beginning Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Pastors Ron & Rita Smith. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
