Russell P. Jones

Russell P. "Russ" Jones, age 70, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 18, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 13, 1940 to Henry and Mary Jones in Mars, Pennsylvania. Russ was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving our country proudly in Vietnam. He was employed with Diebold Inc. for over 30 years before retiring. Russ was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and baking. Russ will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Jones and Mabel Gordon; and brothers, Bob, Ross, Richard and Raymond Jones. Russ is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Esther Jones; children, Colleen Jones and Tim Jones; brother, Ralph (Esther) Jones; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Molinaro; sisters-in-law, Rita and Ruth Jones; canine companion, Liberty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. The Newcomer Funeral Home assisted the family with professional services (419-473-0300).

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Kelly Emch, the Trauma and Critical Care Teams and the SICU staff at Toledo Hospital for all of their love and care given to Russ and his family during this difficult time.
