Russell Miller

Russell G. "Russ" Miller age 67 of Toledo passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family Friday, June 3rd, 2005, at Medical University of Ohio. He was born February 28th, 1938 to Gale and Elsie (Clark) Miller in Toledo. Russ graduated from Whitmer High School with many sports accomplishments and then went on to attend Findlay College. He worked a number of years for the Washington Township Park System and then became a self employed contractor. He primarily worked in the Toledo area and several years in Florida, helping build the cable system in Ft. Lauderdale. Russ will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Miller and son-in-law, Joseph Scherzer. He leaves many loved ones and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Thelma J. (Werr) Miller; daughters, Denise (David) Girrell; Cindy Scherzer and Sandra Benlein; grandchildren, Carrie (Casey); Teri (Mike); David (Carrie); Ashley; Benny; Jacob and April; great grandchildren, Miranda; Joshua; Christopher; baby Darin; Madalyn; Zakary and baby Garrett; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends will also sadly miss Russ.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-7:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry S. Craig. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Kidney Foundation.
