Rudolph W. "Rudy" Dupler, age 88, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on April 6, 1924 to Walter and Winifred (Six) Dupler in Logan, Ohio. Rudy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving our country proudly during WWII. He was employed with the C&O railroad for 40 years and with Pinkerton Security Company as a sergeant for 20 years before retiring from both. He was a member and the secretary of the Laryngectomy Club of Toledo. Rudy was an avid volunteer for the American Cancer Society doing the "Don't Be a Nicoteen," and he and his wife, Donna, also did the Road to Recovery. Rudy was an avid bowler and longtime member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lester and Millard; and sister, Margie. Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Donna Dupler, which they just celebrated on August 24, 2012; daughters, Sharon (Delbert) Moreland and Debbie (Paul) Babcock; grandson, Wayne Moreland; and one great-grandson.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at a later date.
