Ruby J. Turk, age 62, of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, passed away Sunday, March 8th, 2009 at Flower Hospital. She was born February 10th, 1947 to Joshua and Maude (Stoner) Sumner in Kenvir, Kentucky. Ruby was employed with JAC Products for 10 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Ruby was an avid motorcycle rider for 5 years and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Walter, riding through the Smokey Mountains, the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park and also camping. She was a devoted member of Crossroads Community Church and also enjoyed bowling with several leagues over the years.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her sister, Aunt Trishie Dutcher. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Walter L. Turk, Jr.; children, Dennis (Linda) Turk of Toledo, OH; Diane (Jim O'Leary) Turk of Ottawa Lake, MI; Donnie Turk and Danny Turk both of Ottawa Lake, MI; grandchildren, Christian; Marisa; Nathan; Alexis and Zachary; great granddaughter, Nevaeh; siblings, Ralph; Bobby; Fran; Ronnie and Johnie Sumner; godson, Michael Tucker and many wonderful and supportive extended family members and dear friends like the "Rightous Riders".
The family will receive guests Saturday and Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Dean Angel. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
