Ruby L. Gore, age 95, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 surrounded by her family at Lake Park Care Center in Sylvania. She was born on May 9, 1915 to August Wilhelm Frederick (Melinda) Weber in Whitehouse, Ohio. Ruby was born into a large family where she was the last surviving child out of fourteen. In the 1960's, she opened Miss Ruby's Beauty College on Huron Street where she displayed her talent and leadership role to the young students she was mentoring. These students found Ruby's enthusiasm to be very inspirational to them. During her youth, she was politically active and her family would like to remember her as a spirited woman of the 60's. Ruby's family was her passion and she will be dearly missed by them.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, John E. Gore; children, Wilford Brockhoff and Anna-Mae Siler; grandson, William "Butch" Siler Jr. and 14 brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419 -473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 8:00 p.m.
