Roy Whitehead

Roy "Jerry" Whitehead, Sr., age 71, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 22, 1941 to Roy B. and Eleanor Whitehead in Toledo. Jerry was employed with the Eaton Corp., formerly known as Dana, for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed family gatherings and loved nothing more than the time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Whitehead; and brother, James Whitehead. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Dorothy "Dot" Whitehead; children, Dawn (Fred), Danny (Pam), David (Michelle), Roy J. (Lori), Joe (Sarah), Mike (Tracey), Jeff (Carey), Tim (Rosanna) and Kevin; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his canine companion, Gracie; and many other relatives and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
