Roy R. Almaguer, age 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 8, 2012 at his daughter's home. He was born on April 16, 1936 to Benjamin and Maria Isabel (Ramirez) Almaguer in Mexico. Roy was employed with CSX Railroad for 37 years as a conductor until retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a ranger serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. Roy enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was a jokester. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen (Almaguer) Miller and brothers, Manuel and Rudy Almaguer. Roy is survived by his loving children, Monica (Kevin) Peterson, Niko (Bill) Kuehling and Trina Ewing; grandchildren, Amanda, Amber, Stephanie, Mike, Mark, Crystal (Duncan), Broc, Zane, Roy, Billy and Kelly; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Joe (Janet), Ben (Terri), Mike (Nancy) and Fred (Tina) Almaguer; sisters, Bertha (Manuel) Andrade and Josephine Vidal; sister-in-law, Cory Almaguer; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
There will be no visitation or services for Roy per his request. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
