Roy Ochoa, age 66, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born May 25th, 1943 to Alex and Mary (Avad) Ochoa in Blissfield, Michigan. Roy was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country proudly. During his time in the service Roy was awarded a Purple Heart. He was employed with the former Foodtown Company for many years, retiring in 2007. Roy was a member of Teamsters Local 20. He enjoyed shooting pool and darts and listening to Motown and Mexican music. Roy was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Most importantly he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends sharing good times and memories and a few Bud Lights.
In addition to his parents Roy, was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan (Rogers) Ochoa and sister, Mary Rios. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer "Bubba" Ochoa; siblings, Domingo; Alex; Robert; James; Henry; David; Daniel; Gilbert; Jane; Susie and Janet; goddaughter, Brittany "Chubs" and special niece, Mia. Roy will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and dear friends, Diane; Deb and Shannon.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
