Roy Allen Hagerman

Roy Allen Hagerman age 96 of Toledo passed away Monday June 3, 2024 at Arbors of Sylvania. Roy was born to Earl and Ethel (Drake) Hagerman on May 22, 1928 in Findlay, Ohio.
Roy served the United States Army for three years, enlisting in 1947 receiving the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan while serving in the World War II. In later years he became very involved at VFW 2898 where becoming a life member for more than fifty years. He worked at Libby Owens Ford, dedicated 34 years before retirement. He loved fishing and gardening, canning all his fruits and vegetables from his garden.
Roy is survived by his wife Linda; daughters Diane (Robin) Rutkowski, Debra (Doug) Lather, Nicole (Brian Lutz) Hagerman; sons Roy Hagerman Jr, Kristian (Jill Michalak) Hagerman, stepson Ryan (Lisa) Takacs, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, OH 43623 (419-743-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 am. at the funeral home followed by burial with military honors at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo.
Memorial contributions in Roy's memory may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 35 or to the VFW National Home.
