Roy E. Coker, Jr., age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on March 22, 1935 to Roy E., Sr. and Lorainne (Elwood) Coker.
Roy was a man of God, had a deep faith and his family will remember him as being a kind, caring, gentle soul who always helped friends in need. He loved the Lord and thoroughly enjoyed participating with the Groceries for Life at Emmanuel Baptist Church. He had a faithful servant heart who was loved by all that knew him.
He was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, enjoyed his train collection and was an avid reader oftentimes enjoying a book while sitting next to his wife in their recliners.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Clara "Betty" (Toska) Coker; children, Tina (Rich) Wells and Richard Hady; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; his dear mother in law, Ruth Toska and his loving and supportive church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynda S. Coker on February 24, 2016.
The family invites guests to join them for Roy's Memorial Service on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, Ohio, 43623 with Pastor Paul Matthiesen officiating.
In Roy's memory, memorial contributions may be made to My Fathers House Orphanage (Haiti).
