Roy C. Keener, age 82, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 in Toledo Hospital. He was born November 22, 1923 to George H. and Pearl (Sisk) Keener in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Roy was a WWII US Army veteran. He was the owner and operator of the former Keener Shell in West Toledo.
Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Norman and sister, Juanita Ingmire. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Blanche S.; children, Royce (Monica); Charlene (Ray) Brown; Brenda Smith of IA and Cindy Simon of Portsmith, OH; stepchildren, Patsy Williams and Nora (Ed) Kornmeier; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Talmage of NC and Herbert; sister, Gladys Steinfurth of FL.
The family will receive guests Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Thayer Salisbury. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
