Roy A. Munson, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011. He was born December 17th, 1956 to Robert and Barbara (King) Munson Sr. in Toledo. Roy served in the U.S. Air Force and he worked at Chrysler-Jeep for 27 years. While he was employed with Chrysler-Jeep he worked in various departments, he was a former union steward and a member of UAW, Local 12. Roy was a mechanical person; he had the knowledge, patience and talent when it came to repairing and working on any car. One of his true passions in life was gourmet cooking, his family will remember his ability to cook anything and how he was so meticulous when preparing the food he served. He even grew his own vegetables and herbs to use in his countless recipes. Roy also enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching Nascar races, cheering on his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved canine companion, Chewy; siblings, Barbara Jean (Howard) Stanbery, Robert (Margie) Munson Jr., and Dawn (Fred) Rospert; stepmother, Sharon Munson; stepbrothers, Jeff and Mark (Annette) Shaffer; children, Aaron (Laura) Stargel, Troy (Chris Ann) Stargel, Tashina Munson and Samantha Munson-Carman; 8 grandchildren; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, and nephews and dear friends; and gracious neighbors, Hilda and Bette Armes. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald L. Munson in 1972.
Inurnment will take place on Monday, August 15th, 2011 at Noon in Toledo Memorial Park. Friends that will be joining the family for services are invited to gather at the front gates of the cemetery at 11:45 a.m.
