Rowena K. Meredith

Rowena K. Meredith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio. Born on November 11, 1940, to Donald and Nonnie (Corbett) Meyers. 

Rowena was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School, having completed her studies in the class of 1957. Throughout her life, she took immense pride in her role as a devoted caregiver. Not only did she maintain her own household with skill and diligence, but she also went above and beyond to assist friends and family in tending to their homes, children, and their pets. 

In her earlier years, Rowena indulged in hobbies that showcased her creative spirit. She adored planting and nurturing her flower gardens. She also enjoyed engaging in ceramic classes and painting, showcasing her artistic abilities.  An avid cat lover, Rowena cherished her feline companions throughout her life, finding comfort and joy especially in the company of her cat, Shiloh, in her later years.

Rowena's involvement with her grandchildren was very important to her. She took great delight in attending their various activities. In addition, she found solace in watching the Detroit Tigers, which brought her many joyful moments, and she enjoyed immersing herself in the world of audiobooks. Her proudest moments were with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her unwavering companionship with her beloved cats.

Rowena is survived by her daughter, Patti Cousino; her son, Jeff (Karen) Meredith; her grandchildren, Jill (Jake), Amy (Nick), Amanda, and Jeffrey; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ava, Nicholas, Jude, Coraline, and Eleanor. She is also remembered fondly by her dear friends Gale and Barbara, who were an important part of her life.

Rowena was preceded in death by her parents and former husbands and life-long friends Bud (Toni) and Tom. She is also preceded in death by her best friends Nick and Jeanne Nixon, along with her cherished cats, Snuggles and Shadow.

Rowena's wishes were for no services, the family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date.
